becoming increasingly important in the future. Mobility and open
borders will require greater comparative knowledge of the different
fiscal provisions in the EU.

In the face of tougher competition, SMEs in particular must become more professional
in the area of business management. Classic tax consultancy and
accounting activities will therefore meet seamlessly to form more
profound business management consultancy to a greater extent than
previously, from cost control to marketing.
E-government
The new communication technologies will become increasingly important in relation to tax administration.
Electronic VAT declarations signal the beginning of an increase in e-government.
Extending training …
In view of these developments, personnel training requirements
will increase, especially with regard to commitment, reliability and
ability to learn – as well as the motivation to make things happen.

Not least of all, one of the constant tasks for the future will
